I designed an informational touchscreen kiosk on the history of basketball. This kiosk is designed to be in a public space like a stadium, arena, etc to allow and interactive way for fans to learn more about the sport they are about to watch. In this case, basketball.
My design process began with understanding how users interact with touchscreen kiosks in educational and sports settings. I aimed to create an engaging, intuitive, and visually appealing interface that allows users to explore the history of basketball effortlessly. The primary goal was to provide an interactive learning experience while maintaining ease of use.
The kiosk focuses on three key principles:
Engagement – Encouraging users to explore basketball history interactively.
Accessibility – Ensuring clear navigation and readability for all ages.
Immersion – Using dynamic visuals, animations, and interactive elements to enhance the experience.
I sketched out multiple layout concepts, ensuring the interface was simple yet immersive. The content was divided into three main categories for easy navigation:
Team Stats – Displays historical team performance, championships, and notable records.
Major Events – Highlights key moments in basketball history, from its invention to modern-day milestones.
Hall of Fame – Features legendary players, coaches, and contributors to the sport.
I also experimented with touch gestures, such as swipe-based navigation for seamless browsing
Using Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop, I refined the wireframes into high-fidelity UI designs. The interface incorporated:
A bold, sports-themed color palette inspired by classic basketball aesthetics.
Large, touch-friendly buttons for easy interaction.
Dynamic images, animations, and video clips to bring historical moments to life.
Clear typography and iconography for effortless readability and navigation.
